Annual. Blooms in summer. Full sun. 2′- 3′ tall. Papery pompom like flowers in dazzling shades of pink, red, yellow, orange, purple, rose, and white. Strawflower, also known by its botanical name, Helichrysum, is a classic colorful flower for everlasting dried floral arrangements. Flowers keep their bright coloration even after drying! Also nice as a fresh cut flower. Being very tolerant of heat and drought, it is a great solution for adding color to hard to grow areas, rock gardens, borders, and hillsides. It even does well in sunny window boxes, because it will grow in shallow soils. Strawflower is a native of Western Australia and blooms all summer. Water regularly until established then keep on the dry side. Pinch off dried leaves on base if desired. May require staking.
