A cultivated garden flower for over 300 years, this brilliant scarlet bloom attracts butterflies, bees and hummingbirds. Jefferson sowed it at Monticello in 1807. Easy to grow from seed. Mature plants divide easily. Vibrant red, great color. Maltese Cross also known as Jerusalem Cross, Scarlet Lightning ; Tall loose growing plant with hairy stems and Sweet-William like leaves with large clusters of bright red flowers. Full sun; plant height:18-24in.
