LUPINES "Russel Mix"


Wonderful select strain of Lupines for a mass of colors and cutting beauty! Perrenial. One of the most decorative plants, thanks to it's tall stalks bearing large flowers in a number of brilliant colors. Spectacular spires of color. Very hardy, long-lived and low maintenance. Thrives on ample moisture and does best where summers are cool. Zones 4-8 All parts of this plant are poisonous. Mixed tall flower that creates great spikes of color. Perennial. Create a stunning scene with a bed of spectacularly colored lupines. The tall spires in shades of pink, rose, bronze, red and blue stand above attractive lobed foliage. Marvelous cut flowers. Blooms in early summer. Days to Sprout 14 - 28, Planting Depth .25 inches. Nick pointed end of seeds with a knife or soak seeds overnight in water. Plant seeds outdoors in early spring or late fall in well-drained soil enriched with compost. (Seeds may be started indoors in peat pots 6 to 8 weeks earlier.) Sow seeds, cover lightly with soil and keep moist until seedlings are established.

Lupin aridus Summer Spires
Hardy Annual Flowers: June to frost Single stemmed plants that produce pink flowers with rose to blue shaded keels making it an interesting cut flower. Sowing Instructions: Sow direct into open ground from March to May for flowering June onwards. For production as an out door cut floor sow in rows 20 to 30 cm apart and 15 to 20cm between the plants. Germination should take 10 to 14 days. Alternatively make early sowings under glass or in a tunnel for late May early June flowering using the same spacing as above. Keep weed free and water during dry periods. 50 seeds.

Lupin Sunrise

Hardy Annual Flowers: Summer, 42 inches Prefers Sun or Partial Shade. As desirable and as lovely as any lupin could be. A tall, branching plant with white, gold, bronze and azure blue flowers rising in ascending tiers above blue-green foliage. It is excellent for cutting, fragrant and spectacular when grown in groups of five or more plants. It MUST be direct sown where it is to flower and germinates freely. Sowing Time: March to May, where it is to flower. Sow seeds sparingly, žin deep in drills 12in apart in well-cultivated soil which has been raked to a fine tilth. Seedlings should not require thinning. Optimum Germination Temperature: 65-85F . Seedlings should emerge within 18-21 days. They will grow well in any good garden soil but prefer a deep, water drained soil and full sun, Water ground regularly, especially in dry periods. Caution: Harmful if eaten. 50 seeds.
