LOBELIA "Blue Crystal Palace" - Wonderful deep blue Lobelia selection with excellant hardiness qualities! Our gourmet flower version of this classic variety! Ideal for beds and borders, edging, containers hanging baskets, rock gardens and terraces. Will do well in semi-shaded areas. Half Hardy Annual. Light blue flowers all summer for borders, tubs or baskets. Days to Germination 15 - 20. Grows Best in Full Sun/Partial Shade. Seeds may be sown singly or in small groups spaced about 1/2 inch apart in trays of a good seed compost, 4-6 weeks before planting out date. Press gently into the surface and germinate at approximately 60-68 degrees Fahrenheit in a bright location. Keep moist but not over wet. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle 2 inches apart in trays and grow on. Harden plants to outside conditions before planting out 6 inches apart in a sunny location when the danger of frost has passed. HELPFUL HINT Makes an excellent edging, especially when planted with white Alyssum. |
