~Ageratum Tycoon~

The branching, dwarf 'Tycoon Purple' flossflowers is a compact flossflower that reflowers readily from secondary branches with its violet blossoms. This tender perennial is widely planted as a bedding annual and will bloom all season long. Each bushy plant has lush, deep green leaves. When temperatures are warm and growing conditions good, it produces airy clusters of button-like flowers with spidery petals that attract bees and butterflies. Although named "purple", the flowers are a reddish violet with hints of blue. Deadheading will encourage vigorous flowering and keep plants looking pretty. Easy to grow, flossflower performs best in sites with full sun and average to fertile loam with good drainage. Partial sun is tolerated in hottest regions but elsewhere full sun is usually best. Average water and regular fertilizer for flowering are recommended. Rarely bothered by deer, Tycoon Purple flossflower is lovely in small containers or mixed border foregrounds, as edging and pairs well with other brightly colored, sun-loving ornamentals. In tropical or subtropical zones its survive all year long as an evergreen perennial although its flowering wanes in summer's intense heat. It may also self-sow if the growing season is long and mild. 100 seed
